Train Services in Tiruchirappalli Affected Till July 15: Full List of Cancelled and Short-Terminated Trains

Passengers travelling through the Tiruchirappalli Railway Division are advised to check their train schedules before leaving for the station, as Southern Railway has announced temporary changes to train operations until July 15.

The changes are being implemented to facilitate the commissioning of a new road at Ponmalai Junction, an important infrastructure project expected to improve railway operations and passenger convenience in the long run.

Why Are Train Services Being Affected?

Southern Railway is carrying out infrastructure work at Ponmalai Junction, requiring temporary operational adjustments across several passenger and express trains. During this period, a few trains will be short-terminated, while others will operate with partial cancellations or revised originating stations.

Short-Terminated Trains

Train No. 56111 – Villupuram–Tiruchirappalli MEMU Passenger

  • Short-terminated at Valadi
  • Affected Dates: July 11, 12 & 13

Train No. 16833 – Mayiladuthurai–Tiruchirappalli Express

  • Terminates at Thiruverumbur
  • Affected Dates: July 11, 12 & 13

Train No. 16812 – Salem–Mayiladuthurai MEMU Express

  • Short-terminated at Tiruchirappalli Junction
  • Affected Date: July 11

Train No. 76825 – Karaikal–Tiruchirappalli DEMU

  • Terminates at Thiruverumbur
  • Affected Dates: July 13 & 15

Train No. 12084 – Coimbatore–Mayiladuthurai Jan Shatabdi Express

  • Short-terminated at Tiruchirappalli Junction
  • Affected Date: July 15

Partially Cancelled Trains

Train No. 16834 – Tiruchirappalli–Mayiladuthurai MEMU Express

  • Cancelled between Tiruchirappalli Junction and Thanjavur Junction
  • Affected Dates: July 11, 12 & 13
  • The train will instead originate from Thanjavur Junction at 5:25 PM.

Train No. 22676 – Tiruchirappalli–Chennai Egmore Chozhan Superfast Express

  • Partially cancelled between Tiruchirappalli and Thanjavur
  • Affected Date: July 15
