India Wins the Inaugural South Asian Goal Shot Ball Championship A Proud Moment for Trichy

 India created history by winning the 1st Men’s South Asian Goal Shot Ball Championship, held in Kathmandu, Nepal, from December 16 to 19, 2025. The championship marked the inaugural edition of the tournament and witnessed strong participation from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Maldives.


Adding special pride to Tamil Nadu, Hariharan A from Tiruchirapalli and Mohammad Dhanveer Ahamed from Dindigul were part of the victorious Indian team. Their contribution played a key role in India clinching the championship title and standing tall among the South Asian nations.



Hariharan A, a Tamil Nadu Handball Coach, completed his B.A History in 2024 from St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchirapalli, and is currently pursuing his final year M.Sc in Visual Communication. His journey reflects a strong blend of academics and sports, inspiring young athletes across the region.

Mohammad Dhanveer Ahamed, a final-year B.Sc Zoology student at GTN College, represents the growing sports talent emerging from Dindigul.



India’s triumph in this inaugural championship is not just a sporting victory but a moment of immense pride for Trichy, Dindigul, and Tamil Nadu. The win highlights the dedication, discipline, and rising standard of Indian athletes on an international platform.
