In a significant boost to the 'Make in India' and sustainable mobility initiatives, Trichy-based energy leader KR Fuels (K.R. Trans Fuels Private Limited) has officially launched its new line of clean fuel conversion kits under the brand name VIBUH.
The launch is headlined by a groundbreaking achievement: the VIBUH kit has secured India’s first official approval for installing Auto LPG systems in BS4-compliant two-wheelers. This pivotal certification enables millions of existing scooter and motorcycle owners to legally convert their vehicles to run on cleaner and more economical Auto LPG.
A New Era for Indian Mobility
The VIBUH range represents a new generation of sophisticated LPG conversion systems designed for two, three, and four-wheelers. This development addresses the critical need for cost-effective and environmentally sound alternatives to traditional liquid fuels.
KR Fuels CEO, Karthigeyan, emphasized the national pride and impact of the product: “The VIBUH kit, proudly conceived and manufactured in our Trichy facility, is a testament to Indian ingenuity aiming for a global standard. Our components, produced with precision using robotic arms from Germany, ensure not only high safety standards but also superior performance across all vehicle segments.”
Economic and Environmental Impact
The primary driver for the adoption of VIBUH kits is the substantial economic benefit for consumers. The company estimates that users can achieve fuel cost savings of up to 40% compared to operating on petrol, offering much-needed relief from fluctuating fuel prices.
Beyond savings, VIBUH delivers a strong environmental advantage. Auto LPG is known to be a cleaner-burning fuel than petrol, contributing to a significant reduction in harmful tailpipe emissions. The new systems are poised to play a crucial role in lowering urban air pollution, particularly in high-density two-wheeler markets.
The two-wheeler conversion kit, which is a major focus, includes a compact 5-litre tank, a specialized Electronic Control Unit (ECU), and high-precision injectors. Initial market estimates place the all-inclusive installation cost for the two-wheeler kit around ₹15,500.
The launch has been hailed by industry bodies, underscoring the potential for a massive shift in the country's transportation landscape. KR Fuels, which already operates an extensive network of auto LPG stations and conversion centers across Tamil Nadu, is now set to roll out its certified VIBUH kits across India.
